From Shinjuku, the highway buses will take you to the front of the Hakone Highland Hotel. You can also reach Hakone Yumoto by direct train without any transfers. The hotel is very conveniently-located for access from the city center. 
In addition, since the bus stop is located just in front of the Hotel, it is also a perfect jumping point from which to explore the surrounding areas.

If taking the Odakyu Hakone Highway bus From Haneda Airport or Shinjuku Station, you will pass several view points from which Mt. Fuji can be seen up close.

Owakudani/Hakone Ropeway

Owakudani/Hakone Ropeway

The Hakone Ropeway takes you up to Owakudani Station at an altitude of 1,044 m, from where you can go further to Togendai, enjoying the view of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji from the air for about 20 minutes. When you look down from above the mountain top on fair-weather days, you can enjoy the scenic panorama of Mt. Fuji and of a valley of 130 m. Recommended for those who want to take in the views at a leisurely pace.

Narukawa Art Museum

Narukawa Art Museum

The Narukawa Art Museum, showcasing the work of Japanese contemporary painters such as Yamamoto Kyujin and Hirayama Ikuo, stands on top of a small hill surrounded by trees. You can enjoy Hakone's premium views of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji from the glass windows reaching up to 50 m in total length, which is wide enough to see the whole view.
